INSULATED STORAGE TANKS
The J. L. Houston Company manufactures insulated steel storage tanks for the storage of liquid products where it is necessary to maintain the liquid at a constant temperature. Tanks are available in either flat bottom vertical, 45 degree conical bottom or horizontal skid tank configuration. These Insulated tanks are commonly furnished with 8” R-25 fiberglass insulation. Weather protection is provided by a layer of 29 gauge metal building sheeting--painted white. Dome is covered with 8” of insulation and a 14 gauge painted metal conical dome.
Optional accessories can include insulated door for pump or heater access, optional ladder system, pumps and gas or electric heat. Other configurations and insulation densities are available as well.
Pictured here is a 12,000 gallon tank during the insulation process in our plant. We also provide and install heaters, pumps and plumbing to meet customer needs. Please call to discuss your requirements.
Tanks are constructed with slightly conical bottom to help provide complete drainage of most liquids. Skirt supported tanks have a 2” x 2” rolled angle at the base of the skirt to provide stability on concrete or other solid supporting surface. The standard outlet on skirted tanks is a 2” line piped out to the skirt perimeter-ADD $60.00 for 3” line. I-Beam supported tanks have a 2” threaded outlet in bottom center of the tank. Price includes up to 4-4” openings as standard.
